ADVANCED TEST 4

1.- Complete the sentences with a relative pronoun. Omit them when they are not necessary.

¿TEACHERS?

El siguiente es un artículo dirigido a todo aquel que busca aprender inglés mediante vídeos.
Existen varios profesores que consciente o inconscientemente, cometen errores al grabar vídeos o tutoriales de idiomas o de cualquier otra materia.
Mostraremos algunos ejemplos y los analizaremos para que toméis nota de lo que se puede encontrar en internet.

1.- El anuncio

En este vídeo, un joven ofrece sus servicios como profesor particular. No es nada nuevo. Hoy en día muchas personas ofrecen enseñar materias para poder ganarse la vida.
Lo curioso (por decir algo) del anuncio es la primera de las 2 frases en inglés que menciona al final de su anuncio.




Se le oye decir "gud láik", lo que sería "Good like". Pero, tal vez quiso decir "gud lak", es decir "Good luck".
También notamos un fuerte acento norteamericano de la palabra "later", el cual pronuncia como "léiterr".


2.- La pronunciación cero

En este vídeo se muestran una serie de frutas. La pronunciación NO es la correcta en ninguna de ellas. Además, por el acento de la profesora, y la palabra que utiliza para definir la "piña", resulta difícil saber a lo que se refiere.



La pronunciación (británica) correcta sería "ápol", "uótamelon", "páinapol", "gréips", "páshon frut".
Curiosamente las tres últimas frases son las únicas en las que (casi) acierta.


3.- El Presente ¿Simple?

Esta clase se refiere al Present Simple o Simple Present Tense. Pero, como vemos, la explicación NO es tan sencilla como debería ser.



Al empezar el profesor dice que "en el presente simple hablamos de una acción que está pasando en este momento". Error nº 1 : Esto sería Presente Continuo.
Al hablar acerca del verbo, se lía comentando la diferencia entre verbos regulares e irregulares. Esto sólo crea mayor confusión al estudiante.
Luego habla de la forma del verbo acabada en "s" o "es" para la tercera persona. Pero, NO menciona ninguno de los otros pronombres.
Continúa con unos ejemplos hablados con "Do" pero pone otro con la tercera persona usando "Does". Esto sería más fácil si explicase que "Do" se utiliza con los pronombres "I", "You", "We" y "They" y "Does" para "He", She", e "It".
Las respuestas cortas SÓLO necesitan del verbo auxiliar. Así pues, sería "Yes, she does." o "No, she doesn't." Si incluimos el verbo principal, tendremos que decir la respuesta completa, NO la forma corta.
Traduce "Facts" como "Factores", cuando en realidad su significado es "un hecho o dato real". También se lía en la explicación.


4.- CAN, Verbo Auxiliar ¿o Modal?

La profesora de turno hace una previa del tema acerca de CAN, explicando algo acerca de ello. Pero, empieza diciendo que es un verbo auxiliar, cuando en realidad se trata de un verbo modal.



Una de los primeros errores que notamos es el de colocar el "pronombre" en la estructura. Lo correcto sería colocar un "sujeto" (Este puede ser : una persona "Pedro", "María", etc, varias personas "People", un pronombre singular "I", un pronombre plural "they", "we"), ya que de la primera forma, el alumno se limitará a ubicar o reconocer únicamente los "pronombres".
Al finalizar su intervención, en la frase de ejemplo, ella dice "¿Puedes tú ayudarme?" pero escribe "Can I helf me?".
Lo correcto aquí sería "Can you help me?".
Y cuando da paso al vídeo, en este se menciona y se puede leer "Verbos Modales : Can".


5.- Recomendaciones

a.- NO fiarse nunca de un sólo profesor o tutorial.
b.- Buscar varias fuentes sobre un mismo tema. De esta manera nos aseguramos de tener la información correcta.
c.- Existen varias páginas de escuelas oficiales que tienen vídeos o canales en la red.
d.- Evitar largas explicaciones en vídeos. Preferiblemente que no sean más de 20 ó 30 minutos como máximo, dependiendo del tema a tratar. Por lo general sólo deberían ser de unos 10 ó 15 minutos.
e.- Ir de menos a más. Si escuchamos y vemos diálogos o explicaciones en el idioma nativo, mejor que sean de temas y/o niveles un poco más bajos al nuestro. De esta manera entenderemos mejor la parte hablada, mejoraremos la pronunciación y aprenderemos acerca del tema tratado. 3 x 1.
