2.- Lyrics

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire

Jack Frost nipping at your nose

Yuletide carols being sung by a choir

And folks dressed up like Eskimos

Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe

Help to make the season bright

Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow

Will find it hard to sleep tonight

They know that Santa's on his way

He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh

And every mother's child is gonna spy

To see if reindeers really know how to fly

And so I'm offering this simple phrase

To kids from one to ninety-two

Although it's been said many times, many ways

Merry Christmas to you

Although it's been said many times, many ways

2.- Lyrics

When I look into your eyes

I can see a love restrained

But darlin' when I hold you

Don't you know I feel the same?

Nothin' lasts forever

And we both know hearts can change

And it's hard to hold a candle

In the cold November rain

We've been through this such a long long time

Just tryin' to kill the pain, ooh yeah

Love is always coming, love is always going

No one's really sure who's lettin' go today

Walking away

If we could take the time to lay it on the line

I could rest my head just knowin' that you were mine

All mine

So if you want to love me then darlin' don't refrain

Or I'll just end up walkin' in the cold November rain

Do you need some time on your own?

Do you need some time all alone?

Ooh, everybody needs some time on their own

Ooh, don't you know you need some time all alone

I know it's hard to keep an open heart

When even friends seem out to harm you

But if you could heal a broken heart

Wouldn't time be out to charm you?

Oh, oh, oh

Sometimes I need some time on my own

Sometimes I need some time all alone

Ooh, everybody needs some time on their own

Ooh, don't you know you need some time all alone

And when your fears subside

And shadows still remain, oh yeah

I know that you can love me when there's no one left to blame

So never mind the darkness, we still can find a way

'Cause nothin' lasts forever, even cold November rain

(Chorus)

Don't ya think that you need somebody?

Don't ya think that you need someone?

Everybody needs somebody

You're not the only one

You're not the only one

(Repeat x3)

12 MOTHER'S SAYINGS

1.- Because I said so.

2.- Wait and see. = Espera y verás.

La frase completa sería "Just wait and see".

3.- Ask your dad. = Pregunta a papá.

Una variante es "Go ask your dad" (Ve y pregunta a papá).

4.- No dessert unless you finish your dinner.

5.- If someone asked you to jump off a cliff, would you?

6.- I've told you a thousand times. = Te lo he dicho mil veces.

7.- You'll take someone's eye out with that.

8.- It'll all end in tears.

"Tears" equivale a "lágrimas".

9.- Don't sit that close to the tv. You'll get square eyes.

10.- Carrots make you see in the dark.

11.- Do as I say, not as I do.

12.- Back in my day. = En mis tiempos.

Hay variantes para esta frase, como: "Back in my days" y "Back in the day". La palabra "back" indica el pasado.
