Blondie se formó a mediados de los 70s en la ciudad de New York. Debido a la época de sus inicios, su música combina estilos tan variados como el Pop, Reggae y Funk. Su primer gran éxito llegaría recién en 1978 con este single perteneciente a su tercer álbum "Parallel Lines". Lideró las listas de varios países incluyendo USA y UK.
Este grupo es más conocido por su éxito mundial "Don't Dream It's Over", pero, cuenta con otros trabajos de similar calidad como "Better Be Home Soon", "Fall At Your Feet", "Weather With You" y "Distant Sun".
A mediados de los 80's, un grupo noruego se hizo famoso a nivel mundial con una sola canción y su correspondiente videoclip. Pal Waaktaar y Mags Furuholmen se conocieron desde niños en su ciudad natal, Oslo. Durante su adolescencia conocieron a Morten Harket y luego (1983) se mudaron a Londres. Tras 2 años de trabajo y de dejar "Demos" o maquetas a varias compañías, obtienen un contrato con Warner Bros. Records y graban su primer single"Take On Me". Al principio este tema no tuvo el éxito esperado. Pero, después de la creación y presentación del videoclip animado, se convirtió en uno de los más importantes del grupo y de la cadena MTV. El nombre del grupo proviene de una canción que Pal escribió. A-HA cuenta con otros éxitos como"Hunting High And Low", "The Sun Always Shines On Tv", "Stay On These Roads", "You Are The One" y el tema principal del film de James Bond, "The Living Daylights".
El grupo The Farm es uno de los más importantes de Reino Unido y de Liverpool, su ciudad de origen. Sus inicios se remontan a 1983 bajo el nombre de The Excitements. Al llegar los 90s, consiguen su mayor éxito "All Together Now". La letra es acerca de un partido de fútbol disputado en 1914 -en plena Primera Guerra Mundial- entre soldados británicos y alemanes. El single escaló hasta el cuarto puesto de la lista oficial británica.

El trío de chicas The Supremes estaba conformado por Florence Ballard, Mary Wilson y Diana Ross. Tuvo una docena de números 1 en el ranking Billboard de USA y alrededor de 50 singles editados. Florence Ballard falleció el 26 de febrero de 1976 a causa de un ataque al corazón. Mary Wilson falleció el 08-02-2021 a la edad de 76 años. Diana Ross se hizo solista en 1970.
El productor norteamericano Louis Jay Pearlman creó en los noventas grupos de chicos como este. Ante la fama alcanzada por NKOTB, algunos productores intentaron hacer lo mismo. Lou Pearlman atrajo la atención de jóvenes en busca de una oportunidad en el mundo de la música, mediante un anuncio de búsqueda de nuevos artistas. Backstreet Boys estaba compuesto (como NKOTB) por 5 chicos y sus canciones fueron creadas por compositores profesionales.

El músico y compositor Jeff Lynne fue uno de los miembros de un super grupo formado a finales de los 80's llamado Traveling Wilburys. Pero, antes de ello, también fue uno de los responsables de la creación del grupo británico Electric Light Orchestra. Como su nombre lo dice, fue un grupo de Rock orquestal. También conocido por las siglas E.L.O., este grupo formado en 1970 cuenta con grandes canciones como "Evil Woman", "Livin' Thing", "Telephone Line", "Don't Bring Me Down", "Hold On Tight" y "Rock 'N' Roll Is King". E.L.O. también participó en la banda sonora original del film "Xanadu" junto a la cantante y actriz Olivia Newton John.

Este condicional se forma con IF o con WHEN. En este caso, se omiten por deseo del autor. Pero, la forma se nota claramente.

4.- VERBS
El verbo WATCH es uno de los que más problemas causa a los alumnos.
Pero aquí os intentamos ayudar con ésta explicación.
En Inglés, al igual que en castellano, existen verbos similares. En el caso de WATCH, hay otros dos verbos similares que son LOOK y SEE. La definición de cada una es la siguiente :
SEE = Ver. Es lo que vemos al abrir los ojos, o lo que tenemos a nuestro alrededor sin prestar atención a ninguna imagen en concreto.
- When I open my eyes, I can see my bedroom.
LOOK = Mirar. En este caso se presta atención a algo específico, persona, animal o cosa.
Look at me, please
WATCH = Vigilar. Indica que se presta gran atención sobre algo o alguien. Una forma de recordar mejor su significado es :
Watchman = Vigilante
También prestamos especial atención a dos verbos.
LOOK AROUND = Mirar alrededor, echar un vistazo.
Es un PHRASAL VERB.
Y a este otro verbo :
LONG FOR = Anhelar, ansiar, extrañar
Este último verbo puede ir con FOR o con TO.

5.- BREATH
Significa aliento y su pronunciación es /brɛθ/ (bréz).
