TEXT TEST


El siguiente es un ejercicio en forma de texto, para practicar su nivel de inglés.

Nota.- Puede pedir las respuestas por medio de un mensaje o comentario.


1.- Lea el texto. Coloque el verbo entre paréntesis, en su forma correcta, en los espacios en blanco.

CLOCKS ACROSS THE TIME

EASTER HOLIDAYS - PAST TENSE TEST TEXT


En esta ocasión, publicamos un texto para practicar los verbos en pasado.

El ejercicio consiste en colocar los verbos que están entre paréntesis, en pasado simple.

NOTA.- Puede solicitar las respuestas mediante un comentario o mensaje vía email.


Last easter holidays Jimmy and Paul ___ (go) camping in the mountain. They ___ (spend) a wonderful time there. They ___ (wake up) early in the morning and then they ___ (go) for a walk. In the village they ___ (buy) everything they ___ (need).

In the afternoon, they ___ (play) football, ___ (watch) the birds and ___ (swim) in the river.

They ___ (not have) a TV set, so after dinner they ___ (talk) for a while and then they ___ (go) to sleep.

One night Jimmy ___ (have) a very strange dream: they ___ (be) by the river watching the moon. Suddenly, they ___ (hear) someone calling "Hello! Hello!". They ___ (turn) around and they ___ (see) a strange creature. It ___ (be) green and very small. He ___ (invite) them to go to his spaceship. TOP 10 MISSPELLED WORDS

 

Tan importante como tener una buena pronunciación, es tener una buena escritura.

La siguiente es una lista de las 10 palabras más buscadas en diccionarios y traductores, que suelen escribirse de forma errónea.

1.- Accommodate = Alojar

Se suele escribir "acommodate" (con una "c") y "accomodate" (con una "m").


2.- Calendar = Calendario

La última "a" cambia a "e" escrita de forma equivocada. Esto tal vez por el sonido de la última sílaba.


3.- Colleague = Colega, compañero de profesión u oficio.

El hecho de ser parecida a su equivalente en español, hace que algunas personas la escriban con una sola letra "l".


4.- Laid-off = Despedido/a (laboral)

El verbo en presente simple es "lay-off". La forma "laid" es el pasado simple. Usualmente, se suele escribir "layed", pero esta forma escrita no existe.


5.- Necessary = Necesario/a

Este adjetivo suele escribirse incorrectamente "neccessary" y "necessery".


6.- Occasion = Ocasión

A veces se ve escrita como "occassion" con dos "s". En otros casos, se suele escribir con una sola "c".


7.- Receive = Recibir

El error más común es escribirla "recieve". Es una de las palabras más mal escritas del diccionario Oxford.


8.- Recommend = Recomendar

Como en otras palabras con letras duplicadas, esta también suele ser confusa. El error más común es escribirlo con doble "c" y doble "m".


9.- Separate = Separado/a

En este caso, se suele confundir tanto su pronunciación como su escritura. Se debe pronunciar "sép ret" (pronunciación figurada). Es la palabra que casi siempre se escribe mal ("seperate") según Google.


10.- Successful = Exitoso/a

La recomendación en esta palabra es fijarse en la palabra base, "success". A partir de aquí, sólo hace falta agregar el sufijo "-ful". Escrita de forma equivocada suele ser "sucesful" o "succesful".
