HAVE



En esta publicación, mostramos las definiciones y usos de uno de los verbos más utilizados: Have.



1.- Definición

a) Verbo Principal

a.1) Equivale al verbo "Tener" en nuestro idioma. También se puede encontrar como "Have got".

Ejemplos:

- I have a house. = Tengo una casa.

- Have you got the job? = ¿Conseguiste el trabajo?

- My sister has a good memory. = Mi hermana tiene buena memoria.

- I've got / I have two sisters and one brother. = Tengo dos hermanas y un hermano.

- I have / I've got a headache. = Tengo dolor de cabeza.

a.2) Tomar alimentos

Ejemplos:

- Have breakfast = Desayunar

- Have lunch = Almorzar, comer

- Have dinner = Cenar

- Have a sandwich. = Comer un bocadillo.

a.3) Recibir, sufrir

Ejemplos:

- I had a letter from my boss. = Recibí una carta de mi jefe.

- Have you had any news? = ¿Has recibido alguna noticia?

b) Have + Sustantivo

Ejemplos:

- To have a shower / bath. = Bañarse

- To have a try. = Probar, intentar.

- To have a chat = Charlar

c) Verbo Auxiliar

c.1) Su significado es "Haber". Se encuentra en los tiempos verbales perfectos y en la forma Condicional.

Ejemplos:

- I've finished my work. = He terminado mi trabajo.

- Has you seen it? = ¿Lo has visto?

- He's gone = Él se ha ido.

- If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed. = Si no lo hubiera visto con mis propios ojos no lo hubiera creido.

d) Mas frases

- She's going to have a baby. = Ella va a tener un bebé.

- He had a lot of influence on other artists. = Él influyó a otros artistas.

- I had a haircut. = Me corté el pelo.

- The kids have a lot of homework. = Los chicos tienen mucha tarea.

- I have a family to feed. = Tengo una familia que mantener.

- It has nothing to do with me. = Eso no tiene nada que ver conmigo.

- I've had it! = ¡Estoy harto!

- I have nothing against him. = No tengo nada en contra de él.

A1 -A2 TEST



En esta ocasión, ponemos a prueba su nivel de inglés con este pequeño test para los niveles A1 y A2.

NOTA.- Puede solicitar las respuestas en un comentario.

Elija la opción correcta.

Ejemplo:

- He is/are my brother. 

= He is my brother.

1.- She don't/doesn't like television.

2.- I am always/always am happy when I see her.

3.- a) What are you doing?

    b) I'm writing/I write a letter.

4.- My brother who/which is 19 is a student.

5.- What did you/did you do last night?

6.- I visit once a month my aunt/my aunt once a month.

THE PENCIL METHOD

Esta vez nos ocupamos de como mejorar nuestro vocabulario. Con un simple truco o método, vamos a ir de menos a más, utilizando un único objeto.

NOTA.- El objeto puede ser cualquier cosa (o incluso tema) diferente del que utilizamos aquí.

I.- El Objeto

En este caso hemos utilizado un lápiz. Pero también podéis utilizar cualquier otro. Ejemplos:

- Un mueble
- Una casa
- Una profesión
- Ropa
- Comida, etc.

Y también temas a tratar. Ejemplos:

- Hobbies
- Educación
- Deportes
- Sociedad
- Culturas, etc.

II.- Vocabulario

De manera general, utilizaremos las palabras de pregunta:

- What
- Where
- When
- Who
- Why
- Which
- How
- How many
- How much, etc

También artículos:

- This
- That
- These
- Those
- A
- An
- The, etc.

Y verbos:

- Do
- Make
- Write
- Play, etc

Y en las respuestas encontraremos mayor vocabulario.

III.- El Método del Lápiz

Cogemos el lápiz y decimos:

a) Definición

"A pencil"
"This is a pencil".
"What is it?"
"It's a pencil".

"What can I do with a pencil?"
"I can write".
"I can draw".

"What can I write?"
"I can write words".

(Ex.)

A WORD

"Or numbers".
(Ex.)

1, 2, 3

"What can I draw?"
"I can draw a picture".

b) Ampliación de la información.

"Who writes professionally?"
"Writers (Authors) or Journalists".

"What does a writer write?"
"A writer writes novels".
"How many kinds of novels are there?"
"There are many kinds of novels. Some of them are: Romantic novels, History novels, Horror novels, etc".

"Where do journalists write?"
"Journalists write in magazines and newspapers".
"What do they write about?"
"They write about arts, society, politics, etc".

"Who draws professionally?"
"Painters, designers, etc".

"Who are famous painters?"
"Famous painters are Picasso, Van Gogh, Dalí, Rembrandt, etc".

"What do designers do?"
"Designers design clothes, plans (buildings, etc), vehicles, etc".

"Who writes numbers professionally?"
"A Maths teacher, an engineer, a businessman, a salesman, etc".

IV.- Extras

Podemos agregar preguntas de carácter personal como:

"Do you like to read?"
"Why?"
"Do you like to draw?"
"Why?"
"What do you like to read?"
"Why?"
"When do you usually read?"
"Why?"
"How many books have you read in your life?"
"What do you like to draw?"
"Why?"
"What do you use to draw?"
"Do you use colours?"
"What colours do you use?"
"Why?"

Y todas las que se nos ocurran según el nivel en el que nos encontremos.

V.- Recomendaciones

Como podeis ver, este método/truco empieza desde el nivel básico. Por ello se puede hacer desde este nivel hasta los niveles más avanzados. Y con el vocabulario que tengamos, según el nivel en el que nos encontremos.

1.- Elegir un objeto diferente cada vez.
2.- Hacer preguntas sobre el orígen, forma, color, estado, etc, de acuerdo al objeto elegido.
3.- NO hacer muchas pausas o silencios. En lugar de ello, empezar de nuevo.
4.- Formular algunas preguntas de carácter personal, como en el punto IV.
5.- Si lo hacéis en pareja es mucho mejor, puesto que una persona puede formular las preguntas y la otra, responder.

TEST ELEMENTARY (2)

En ésta ocasión ponemos a prueba una vez más vuestro nivel de Inglés con otro test del nivel "Elementary". Si habeís podido con el primero, este no os será un problema. Si no, podeis repasar algunos temas que se explican en este mismo blog. Las respuestas las podeis pedir mediante la dirección email que aparece a la derecha de ésta página en el apartado "Comentarios".

1.- Escribir la palabra que falta en cada uno de los espacios. Las contracciones, se consideran como una sola palabra.

6.- Present Simple or Present Continuous? Cambiar el verbo si está equivocado. NOTA : Solo 3 son correctas.

c) I'd like to buy this coat. How much is it costing?
d) What's the matter? The bus is stopping.
e) I'm usually getting up at 6:00.
